Аннотация: Развитие научного знания в области логопедии на юге Российской империи и СССР — сложный и противоречивый процесс. Его понимание возможно только через призму исторических, экономикокультурных, социальных условий развития этой территории, изучения и анализа всего комплекса процессов, протекавших в ХХ в. Ретроспективный анализ развития логопедии в обозначенный временной период позволит осмыслить историческое, теоретико-методологическое наследие, характер интегративных процессов, происходящих в логопедии на основе ее межсистемных и внутрисистемных связей с другими областями научного знания, оценить вклад исследователей в развитие данной научной области. Руководствуясь вышесказанным, можем утверждать, что сегодня чрезвычайно актуализируется проблема объективного анализа историко-педагогического наследия, осмысления и целесообразного использования позитивных идей прошлого. В статье рассмотрены этапы становления системы специального образования на территории Северного Причерноморья. Проведен анализ научных исследований отечественных ученых, которые занимались изучением вопросов развития и реформирования специального образования. Изучены вопросы становления системы коррекционного образования на указанной территории в историческом аспекте. Очерчены основные направления, по которым осуществлялась подготовка дефектологов. Сделан акцент на необходимости критического анализа историко-педагогических условий развития логопедической науки на южных территориях России как некоторого опыта для творческого осмысления в ходе современного развития логопедии в сложившейся социально-экономической, общественно-политической и культурологической ситуации.

Abstract: The development of scientific knowledge in the field of logopedics in the south of the Russian Empire and the USSR is a complex and contradictory process. Its understanding is possible only through the prism of historical, economic, cultural, and social conditions of the development of this territory, and exploration and analysis of the entire complex of processes taking place in the 20th century. A retrospective analysis of the development of logopedics in the designated time period will make it possible to assess the historical, theoretical and methodological heritage, the nature of the integrative processes occurring in logopedics on the basis of its intersystemic and intrasystemic connections with other areas of scientific knowledge, and to evaluate the contribution of researchers to the development of the science of speech pathology. On the basis of this, it is possible to argue that today, the issue of objective analysis of the historico-pedagogical heritage and rational use of the positive ideas of the past is especially urgent. The article examines the stages of formation of the special education system in the Northern Black Sea region, and identifies the main areas of its modernization and improvement. The work of domestic scholars who were involved in the development and reform of special education has been analyzed. An analysis was made of the formation of the special education system in the territory from a historical perspective. The study outlines the main specializations for which defectologists were trained. An accent is made on the need to carry out a critical analysis of the historicopedagogical conditions for the development of logopedics in the southern territories of Russia as some experience for creative comprehension in the course of the modern development of logopedics in the modern socio-economic, sociopolitical and cultural situation
