Abstract: The article is devoted to the problem of counseling parents of children with disabilities in the situation of distance learning. It stresses the urgency of the development of modern information and communication technologies (ICT) for teaching and counseling all participants of the education process (parents, children with disabilities and support specialists), which is becoming particularly important in connection with the COVID-19 pandemic. Practice shows that the family mem-bers of a child with disabilities do not have sufficient information about the specificity of the development and up-bringing of such a child; therefore, stud-ying and searching for opportunities to improve the effectiveness of parent counseling, including usage of ICT, will help to conduct rehabilitation-educational work at home in the absence of offline classes with a specialist. It is noted that the use of the potential of parental participation in rehabilitation-educational work with a child does not mean duplication of pedagogical and psychological work of specialists. Reha-bilitation-educational activities of parents are associated with the addition and expansion of the directions and content of work with a child with disabilities developed by specialists, in which the resources of the family are productively involved. The article identifies and reveals the options for teaching formats for children with disabilities and their families (online learning, offline learning, mixed learning format) and shows the advantages and some limitations of these formats. The role of the parents in choosing the most suitable format of counseling and interaction with specialists for them and the child are characterized.
